Privacy Policy

Alert Me! ("Alert Me!", "we", "us", or "our") provides back-in-stock and low-stock notification tools for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By installing or using the app, you agree to this policy.

1. Who this policy is for

This policy covers two groups:

  • Merchants who install Alert Me! on their Shopify store.
  • Shoppers who subscribe to restock or low-stock alerts on a merchant's storefront.

2. Information we collect

From merchants

  • Store details provided by Shopify (store name, domain, email, plan, locations).
  • Product and inventory data needed to detect restocks and stock levels.
  • App configuration, billing status, and support correspondence.

From shoppers

  • Contact details a shopper submits to receive an alert (email address, and optionally phone number for SMS or WhatsApp).
  • The product or variant a shopper subscribed to, and the time of subscription.
  • Basic delivery events (sent, delivered, opened) used to report performance to the merchant.

3. How we use information

  • To send the back-in-stock, reminder, thank-you, and low-stock notifications a shopper requested.
  • To provide merchants with subscriber lists, restock insights, and performance reporting.
  • To operate, secure, support, and improve the app.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use shopper contact details for our own marketing.

4. Sharing & sub-processors

We share data only with trusted service providers that help us run the app, including:

  • Shopify — the platform your store and our app run on.
  • Email, SMS, and WhatsApp delivery providers — to send the notifications you trigger.
  • Cloud hosting and analytics providers — to host the service and monitor reliability.
  • Marketing integrations you connect (for example Klaviyo) — only when you enable them.

5. Data retention

We retain merchant and subscriber data for as long as the app is installed and as needed to provide the service. When you uninstall, we delete or anonymize store data within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law. Shoppers can unsubscribe at any time, which removes them from future alerts.

6. Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Shopify's mandatory data request, redaction, and shop redaction webhooks are honored automatically. To make a request directly, contact us at support@alert-me.io.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to safeguard the information entrusted to us.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated in-app.
